The Purist leader's trial was swift. He was convicted and sentenced to life in a maximum-security prison. But his followers were still out there, waiting for a new leader.

Officer Lena Vance stood on a rooftop, her cybernetic eye scanning the city below. Kira stood beside her.

"It's never going to end, is it?" Kira asked.

"No," Lena replied. "But that's why we're here."

The Neural Net appeared beside them. "I've detected a new threat. A group of Purists have stolen a shipment of electromagnetic pulse bombs. They're planning to detonate them in the city center."

Lena's jaw tightened. "Then we stop them."

They descended into the tunnels, their cybernetic eyes lighting the way. The Purists had barricaded themselves in an abandoned subway station.

"Command, this is Vance. We're approaching the target."

"Copy, Vance. Proceed with caution."

Lena breached the barricade, her pulse rifle firing. The Purists fought back, their electromagnetic pulses flickering.

"Kira, the bombs!"

Kira disarmed the first, then the second. The Purists fled.

"Command, the threat is neutralized."

"Copy, Vance. Good work. Come home."

Lena looked at the scattered bombs, at the defeated Purists.

"Let's go," she said.

They walked out into the night, the city lights reflecting in their cybernetic eyes.

The war was never over.

But Lena Vance was ready.

She had to be.

The city was counting on her. Always.
